John J. Sakal passed away on October 25, 2024, leaving behind loving family and friends. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Lake Grove, NY. After serving in the United States Air Force, he worked as a jet mechanic for PanAm/ Delta Airline. He is survived by his children Regina Barile, AnnMarie Wagner, Irene Gernert (deceased), John Sakal, Joe Sakal, and Paul Sakal, and their respective families. He will be joining his wife who predeceased him at Calverton National Cemetery. Viewing to be held at Dohanich Ventimiglia Family Funeral Home & Cremation Related Service, Inc. on Sunday 10/27/24 from 7:00pm and 9:00pm. On Monday October 28, 2024 there will be a Mass at St Patrick's Roman Catholic Church of Smithtown NY at 9:45am. After the Mass, a procession will be led to Calverton National Cemetery for a Military Honors Burial at 12:00pm.
